Excelling as a Chief of Staff

I help Chiefs of Staff at every stage – from landing the role to mastering it – through focused coaching and mentoring programmes.

Wherever you are in your Chief of Staff journey…

Whether you're positioning yourself for your first Chief of Staff role, navigating in the complexity of your first few months, or feeling a bit stuck after being in the position for a while, you're not alone. The Chief of Staff role is unlike any other – managing competing priorities and high-stakes decisions with limited authority but unlimited accountability.

Maybe you're preparing for interviews and want to understand what this role really demands. Perhaps you've just landed the position and want to hit the ground running without being overwhelmed by the politics, the ambiguity, and the sheer volume of expectations. Or perhaps you've been in role for months or years, but feel like you've hit a plateau, questioning your impact and wondering how to elevate your influence.

… I understand because I’ve been one.

Having served as a Chief of Staff myself, I understand each of these stages. I know what it feels like to navigate the delicate balance of influence without authority, to be the person everyone turns to when things get complicated, and to quickly develop cross-functional expertise and credibility - all while working for a demanding CEOs.

Through our work together, you'll gain clarity on where you add most value, develop the resilience to handle high-pressure situations, and build the authentic leadership presence that makes you indispensable to your CEO and organisation - as well as to set yourself up for your next move post-COS role.

Here’s where Chiefs of Staff get to through our work together:

  • This one is ultra important. I appreciate it’s hard to make time for your own ‘self care’, but we’ll talk about why it matters and equip you to prioritise it.

  • Gravitas isn’t just for CEOs and statesmen. It’s a superpower that will help you influence, communicate and lead. And it can be learned!

  • This role isn’t just about the soft skills - you may need to hone your analysis and synthesis muscle too. We’ll make sure you’re confident in all the key areas, and that you know how to make AI work for you.

  • Clarity about your role, but just as importantly, clarity about yourself. This is the foundation that everything else builds on.

more About me

Helping Chiefs of Staff excel with calm and confidence

I've been where you are - in a high-stakes role, yet sometimes operating out of fear, or at least a lack of conviction. As a Chief of Staff, it’s common to find yourself overthinking, too attached to the role, and without a natural support network in the organisation.

I figured things out in the end, and also proved what I’d always suspected: you don’t have to be a company insider to be a great Chief of Staff. However, I wasted energy because I hadn’t done the inner work that would have made everything easier. I agonised over little things because I didn’t know what really mattered. Once I was in that high-stress state, I found it difficult to get out of it - which made doing the complex, high-pressure work even harder.

Having done the role and studied it, I now think of the Chief of Staff role as having three main sets of challenges: interpersonal, intellectual and intrinsic. The best part is that they’re all within your control.

I’d love to partner with you on your Chief of Staff journey. The investment you make in yourself now will pay dividends for the rest of your career.
